"My Refugee Friends Taught Me to be Brave."

With students at CUHKFAA Chan Chun Ha Secondary School

Refugee Interactive Workshop at CUHKFAA Chan Chun Ha Secondary School

"I never knew about refugees in Hong Kong, but now I realized it's an unfair system that need to be changed."

"I learned that I shouldn't be afraid to make mistakes. The key to learning a language well is to speak more and be confident, so are other things in lives."

We had a great time visiting CUHKFAA Chan Chun Ha Secondary School on May 16 and engaged students through different activities to understand the situation of refugees in Hong Kong.

Our friends Ali, John, Malik and Sharmake shared their experiences and motivation to pursue life and their fight for dignity in the face of difficulties and opposition. They also encouraged students not to give in to hard circumstances; it is perseverance that can lead them to overcome hardships in life. In addition, African languages, Cantonese, musical, firefighting and communication skills were exchanged! The students also prepared some egg tarts as a way to share "Cantonese" food.

It is great to see people from different communities come together and interact with other, creating a dialogue between students, public and the wanderers.
